Brownells BRN-605 Features Like the original, the Brownells BRN-605® is built around our replicas of the XM16E1 upper and lower receivers (ours is called the XBRN16E1). The lower has the partia”fence” around the magazine release, while the upper has a forward assist, but no shell deflector. The entire bolt / carrier group is chrome plated, again like the original. The 15.5″ A1-profile (skinny) barrel is capped by the standard 3-prong “duckbill” flash hider of early M16s. The hider is pinned and welded in place so you don’t have to contend with NFA short-barreled rifle (SBR) regulations when you purchase a 605 upper. There’s a forward assist, but no shell deflector. Each BRN-605® comes with authentic black furniture of reinforced polymer that replicates the look of the original but is far more durable. It includes a fixed “Type D†buttstock and triangular cross-section handguard, for that iconic early M16 look we all know and love.
